MTD Compliance Checklist

I know my gross income threshold. I understand whether I earn over £50,000 gross from property and/or self-employment.

I have MTD software. I am using a platform that is recognised by HMRC for MTD for Income Tax.

I am keeping digital records. All rental income and expenses are being recorded digitally in an MTD-compatible format.

I understand the quarterly deadlines. I know when each quarterly update is due and have systems to meet them.

I can submit directly to HMRC. My software connects directly to HMRC's systems spreadsheets alone are not sufficient.

I have completed my end-of-period statement process. I understand this replaces the annual Self Assessment return.

I have informed my accountant or adviser. If I use a professional, they are aware of my MTD obligations and how my software connects to HMRC.

What each item means

MTD software

Not all property management tools are MTD-ready for MTD. You must use software that has gone through HMRC's recognition process and can submit directly via the MTD API. Proxera is fully MTD-ready.
